In this novel, Bryan thought he knew who he was and what he believed in. Joining the navy and fighting in Vietnam would shatter his beliefs, yet make him a stronger person than he thought possible. But it is not until more than 20 years later that he can begin to relive the ordeal to dispel the ghosts and horrors of the past.

DiFlugo was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. After graduating from high school, he served in the navy for three years, including two tours of duty in Vietnam. He received a BA from California State University at Long Beach and an MA from Virginia Tech. DiFlugo taught in the Fairfax County Public Schools for 30 years. He lives in McLean, Virginia.
