I am honored to serve as the new president of the George Mason University Alumni Association. In July, Mason embarked on a new era when Dr. Àngel Cabrera began his tenure as president. We look forward to working with President Cabrera as he builds on the strong foundation laid by former president Alan Merten.
I’ve always believed that we could not have achieved our many successes without the support of alumni. Whether it is volunteering our time, attending sporting events, hiring Mason graduates, or making a donation, alumni have been invaluable contributors to Mason’s growth in size and stature. Mason has the largest student enrollment of any Virginia university, and its academic programs continue to ascend the rankings. And following our most recent graduation, the Alumni Association now represents more than 145,000 alumni.
To continue to build our partnership with our alma mater, the Alumni Association is committed to engaging more alumni. We ask that you join us in this effort. If you know fellow alumni who have not heard from us recently, encourage them to visit our website at alumni.gmu.edu or contact the Office of Alumni Affairs to update their contact information. We also ask that you make a habit of visiting the site, so you can learn about upcoming events that might interest you.
In closing, I look forward to meeting as many of you as I can over the next two years. More important, I look forward to joining efforts with you to make Mason a stronger university.
With Patriot Pride,
Rodney W. Turner, JD ’93
President, George Mason University Alumni Association
