If you drive behind the intramural fields on Mason’s Fairfax Campus, you may notice a fenced-in grassy area with numerous big black tubs planted with various kinds of wetland vegetation. The scientific experiments being done in this outdoor facility are the products of Mason ecological engineer Changwoo Ahn and his students.

In response to these difficulties, Mason’s School of Law established the Clinic for Legal Assistance to Servicemembers and Veterans (CLASV).

Love What You Are

I also love that Mason is an inclusive community, one that does not define itself by how many students it leaves out but by how many lives it helps transform every year. From a small teaching satellite campus, we’ve grown into a comprehensive, multicampus, metropolitan, research university serving more students than any of our peer institutions in Virginia. And in doing so, we have found ways to serve an incredibly diverse community composed of people not just from different ethnic and cultural backgrounds but with a wide variety of lifestyles and needs.

The image scrolls by in an instant, and unless you are looking for it, you might not see the name “Vincent Oppido” rushing over Kristin Chenoweth’s glittery gown at the end of February’s broadcast of the 85th Academy Awards. But there it was, and now it’s on Oppido’s resume, along with a host of other accomplishments achieved during and after his studies at George Mason University.

George Mason University Joins the Atlantic 10 Conference

George Mason University has entered into a membership agreement to join the Atlantic 10 Conference beginning with the 2013-14 season, President Ángel Cabrera announced today. The Patriots officially will become members of the 21-sport league on July 1, 2013. “This is an exciting time for George Mason University,” says Cabrera. “After careful consideration, we have concluded that joining the A10 is the right move at the right time for Mason.”
