A Magazine for the George Mason University Community

Show Us Your Crib and You Could Win!

By Leah Kerkman Fogarty on October 20, 2010

Hey, Mason resident students!

Your room could be featured in an upcoming issue of the Mason Spirit, the magazine for the George Mason University community that goes out to 140,000 Mason alumni, donors, faculty, staff, and friends.

The editorial staff of the Spirit is looking to show off the residential population at Mason by running a six-page spread on the best rooms on campus. Think MTV Cribs meets House Beautiful.

Nominate yourself, a fellow RA, or one of your residents (or all three!) and tell us why those rooms represent who they are as students, scholars, and Patriots! We’re looking forrooms that just drip with personality: interesting artwork, a collection of some sort, anything that shows us who you are and what you’re involved in at Mason. Neatness is optional.

To sweeten the deal, every time you nominate someone, your name will be entered to win a gift card to the Mason bookstore. We’ll choose one winner randomly.

Email Leah Fogarty, associate editor of the Spirit, with your nominee’s name, the residence hall they live in, and why you’re nominating him or her.  Feel free to attach photos of the room, too. Send it to lfogart1@gmu.edu by Friday, October 29, 2010.

Finalists will be contacted and you’ll receive a professional photo shoot in your room. You’ll also be interviewed by aSpirit staff writer for the short article that will accompany the photos. The winners will be featured in the Spring 2011 issue of the Mason Spirit or its website.
