Director's Letter

Dear Alumni,

This is an exciting time in the history of alumni relations at George Mason. Many of you have answered the call to become more involved by participating in networking events, interviewing prospective students, and speaking at career seminars. We saw several hundred alumni at the Homecoming Block Party in February and 40 former student leaders at a reunion brunch; many alumni chapters are growing; our regional programs in Boston, Richmond, Atlanta, San Diego, and San Francisco are emerging; and we are continuing to identify meaningful programs and services for alumni.

In the past few months, we have committed to three different types of partnerships that we hope you will find valuable. We have recently launched a new web portal that provides a comprehensive way to organize your daily Internet activities while supporting the Alumni Association and keeping up with events, opportunities, and news at George Mason. We have also partnered with Drake Beam Morin--a leader in career management and transition services--to provide access to comprehensive web-based career management resources and networking opportunities. For additional details on Drake Beam Morin Alumni Career Services and zPatriots.com, see Association News. In addition, we have teamed up with a number of other universities in Virginia to offer several events around the country, including Shakespeare in San Diego, fireworks at the Hollywood Bowl, and a Pops concert in Boston. Local alumni joined us on May 6 at the Virginia Gold Cup, where the Alumni Association hosted its annual hospitality tent throughout the day.

The Office of Alumni Affairs is committed to fostering your relationship with George Mason. Please let us know how we can help you take advantage of university resources and build an even stronger Alumni Association.

Christine Clark-Talley
Director
