Alumnus-Owned Company Recognized as Small Business of the YearThe Redmon Group, a leading multimedia software development firm founded by John Redmon, B.A. Economics '88 and M.B.A. '90, was recently named Small Business of the Year by the Chamber of Commerce in Alexandria, Va.The company develops CD-ROM titles, touch-screen kiosks, computer-based training, websites, and multimedia presentations. Clients have included MCI, United Nations, Bell Atlantic, Lucent Technologies, and IBM. Redmon, who is president of the Redmon Group, founded the company out of his living room in 1990. "The business was started with restaurant waiter tips and built with passion," he says. The firm has come a long way since its humble beginnings.
