Director's LetterDear Alumni,I am delighted to accept the challenge and opportunity to serve you as Director of Alumni Affairs. With the interim period behind us, the Office of Alumni Affairs is moving ahead with an ambitious strategic plan that will enhance programs and outreach efforts to serve your needs and provide more ways for you to connect with your alma mater. The Alumni Affairs Office and the association will be working together to create a comprehensive alumni relations plan for George Mason University. I am pleased to announce that Andy Ackley has been selected as the new Associate Director. Andy has been with us for seven years, during which time she has been an integral part of significant change and development of alumni relations at Mason. Andy's dedicated service and commitment to the alumni of George Mason made her an obvious choice for the associate position. Additionally, in the next few months, we will be expanding the staff with two assistant directors. With this team, which also includes Carole Richardson, our office manager, I am confident that we will make significant strides toward the implementation of our strategic plan. This promises to be an exciting year. Mark your calendars for Homecoming 2000 on Saturday, February 26. We expect to build on the success of last year's block party, get reacquainted with some of our old friends, and make some new friends as well. As always, feel free to contact our office or visit our web page for information about the 12 alumni chapters, upcoming events, services and programs, and other ways to get involved.
