In Remembrance of September 11th

More than 500 people, including President and Mrs. Merten, attend the candlelight vigil on Sept. 13. The vigil was organized by Student Government.


Professor Stan Engebretson conducts a student chorus at a gathering host by the College of Visual and Performing Arts. At the gathering, the space between the Performing Arts Building and Concert Hall was dedicated as a Garden of Peace.


At the end of the dedication, faculty, staff, and students share their feeling about the tragic events.



Following a university memorial service on the Fairfax Campus on Oct. 11, wildflower seeds were spread in specially created flower beds behind the Johnson Center in memory of the victims.
