History and Art History Alumni Chapter
On June 19, the Board of Directors of the George Mason University Alumni Association approved the by-laws for the History and Art History Chapter, making it the newest alumni chapter. The chapter will hold its first event on Saturday, October 19, at Gunston Hall Plantation from 1-4:30 p.m. The group's president is Stephen Karbelk, B.A. History '92, who can be reached at skarbelk@tranzon.com.
Law Alumni Chapter
Off to another eventful year, the Law Alumni Chapter held its fourth annual golf tournament on Saturday, September 21, at Penderbrook Golf Club, and on October 28, alumni host a breakfast reception at the Richmond Marriott in conjunction with the swearing-in ceremony for those passing the Virginia Bar.
A Virginia Ethics Continuing Legal Education lecture with Professor Costello will be held on Wednesday, October 23, from 9:30-11:30 a.m. at the Law School. To reserve a space, e-mail lawalum@gmu.edu. And mark your calendar for Thursday, November 14, to attend the inaugural Richard Murphy Lecture and Reception with Judge Frank Easterbrook at the Law School from 4:15-6:15 p.m.
Larry Dunham, J.D. '77, committee chair for the second annual Law Alumni Reunion, invites all law alumni to enjoy cocktails and dinner at the Law School on Saturday, November 16. While all alumni are encouraged to attend, a special focus will be on the classes of 1977, 1982, 1987, 1992, 1997, and 2002.
